What is the difference between initials and a monogram?
A monogram consists of the three initials, and places the last inital in the middle and larger than the other 2 initials. Initials is simply the three initials, straight across, first-middle-last, all the same size.
Where will the monogram be placed?
It’s So Wright will place the monogram in traditional place for the item you selected. For example, on the right side of a market tote. If you would like it in a different location, please let us know. However, due to technical limitations there are some places a monogram cannot be placed.
How do I select a color for the monogram?
The options are endless! Many people choose a color that matches the item, others choose a different, contrasting color so that the monogram will “pop” and really stand out. Example – Putting a black monogram on the hot pink market tote, which matches the handle and frame as opposed to putting a lime green monogram on there.
Remember that computer screens show colors differently and when you select a color, be assured that we will select the color that best matches the item being embroidered.
What are other options besides a monogram for personalizing an item?
Instead of initials, use a first or last name. To really do something different, do a fun font or use all upper or lower case letters. Using a last name allows the item to be used by the whole family! Remember, the length of the name will affect how big the name is on the item, longer names tend to look squeezed on smaller items (we try our best to work with this!) however, in that case using just the first letter of the last name looks great. Example, putting “The Wrights” on a blanket or just choosing to put a “W” and do it a little larger.
Using just the first letter of the first or last name and doing a bigger monogram! Sometimes, if you want a big monogram, or simply are not sure about all 3 initials, a single initial looks great!
Is personalization different for men and women?
There is a difference in monogramming for men and women. For women, the traditional monogram is used, placing the last initial larger and in the middle. For men, all three initials are the same size and in the correct order, first-middle-last. When monogramming for married couples, it is very common to use both his and her first initials, placing their last name initial in the middle and typically the woman’s first initial is on the left, the man’s on the right.
